Archbishop Dr. Ronald R. Mayo, Sr., a visionary leader from Harlem, New York, holds a PhD in Counseling and Psychology from the United American Free Will Baptist Bible College and Graduate School of Theology in Kinston, North Carolina.

His academic credentials are enhanced by advanced post-doctoral fellowships in Divinity, Humane Letters, and Theology. Archbishop Mayo is also an accomplished author, recording artist, and global ambassador for theological education, having established extension programs in Cameroon, Kenya, Nairobi, and Tanzania.

Archbishop Mayo has been married to Connie G. Mayo for over 39 years, and they have seven children and thirteen grandchildren.

He has dedicated much of his career to ministry, education, and community service. In March 1997, he founded and became Senior Pastor of Mount Carmel Worship Center in New Bern, North Carolina. Additionally, he has held leadership positions in various theological organizations.

Among his many accolades, Archbishop Mayo was awarded The President’s Lifetime Achievement Award by President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. in 2023, received the Order of the Long Leaf Pine from the Governor of North Carolina, and has been recognized multiple times for his significant contributions to the community.
